The masseter is one of the primary muscles responsible for chewing. It sits along each side of the jaw and can become enlarged or overactive from frequent clenching, teeth grinding, stress, or individual anatomy.
Botox can be carefully injected into this muscle to temporarily reduce excessive muscle activity. Depending on the patient’s needs, this may help:
• Reduce jaw clenching and tension • Ease muscle soreness and fatigue • Minimize symptoms associated with teeth grinding • Gradually create a softer, slimmer-looking jawline
